I have a 1999 Nissan Frontier XE and has the 4 cylinder engine and a manual transmission. From what I can find out this year is rated to pull 3500 lbs.
I thinking about buying a small hunting towable trailer that is 2960 lbs. I am worried that I am pushing the limits on the towing capabilities on my truck. I love this old truck and would hate to burn up the transmission on it for pulling a trailer maybe only a couple times a year.
If I installed a transmission or oil cooler fan do you think that might make any difference? I don't want to sell this truck and get anything bigger as I love the gas milage I get now.
Anyone have any experience with a Nissan 4 banger pulling close to max recommended load?
thanks
