What are the reports on mileage -increase/decrease???? I'm running 91 sunoco in my 08 Frontier (lots of power) but any help in mileage is a plus. I've used that function on the Consult 2, but never experimented on my own vehicle. Thanks for the info. Also using Amsoil 5w-30 100% synthetic for the first time.

i have seen some reports on people getting better gas mileage and some people saying they are getting worse. its hard to tell cause people said they were also on the throttle more now that the truck seems to drive much better now.

i have had the timing advance on my titan for over a a year and half and never had any problems. i still to this day run the regular 87 octane gas and it has held the timing advance the entire time. if your running 91 octance right now then your really missing out on the timing advance.

the biggest advantage of getting the timing advance done is the throttle response is much better then stock. its hard to describe but once you drive the truck after having it done it feels much quicker on the gas. if you have access to the Consult 3, which is required to do for 2008 or newer models right now, then you have nothing to loose to try it on your frontier.

also if your not getting a deal on the AMSOIL send me an email and i'll set you up with a better price.

Nobody ever gained anything by running too far advanced or too lean.
That has been common knowledge for years.
Too hot, burnt valves, etc.

Chips that re curve timing and fuel delivery are another story.
You can get added performance or economy depending on how you drive.

by increasing the timing only 2 degress your not going too far advanced to not see any advantages. You can benefit by increasing your timing beyond 2 degrees but you would be required to runner a higher octane fuel in order to prevent detination. only going 2 degrees your not required to run higher octane fuel then the standard 87 octane as directed by Nissan.
