I have noticed that when I get going about 20-30mph, that my radio volume increases slighty but then when I come to a stop or slow down, the volume decreases slightly.  Is this a automatic volume adjusting feature of the vehicle or is there possibly something else wrong.  I can't really tell if it bothers me or not because the noise in the cab isn't that loud to begin with so I don't see the need for the volume to increase.

Anyone experience this or know anything about this?

Thanks,
Greg

It is a feature controlled through the head unit. If you press the round know on the right hand side of the stereo it allows you to change the EQ settings, press it a couple more times and you get an option that I think says: SSV and it will be set to OFF, LOW, MED or HIGH.

That is Speed Sensitive Volume, turns the volume up when you get going and back down when stopped

I guess a RTFM is in order!

Thanks! I have adjusted the SSV to Low and it now is much much better!

I have tried to adjust y SSV both up and down and still notice no difference - seems like ther is no change in volume. Maybe the change is subtle, maybe I am deaf? Is the difference quite noticable to most folks?

I find it quite noticable. But I have it set to HIGH.

I have actually set mine to Med but I listen to Satellite and don't really notice a difference at all like I do with regular radio.  If my hunch is right, it is only used for regular radio and not Satellite.  Does anyone else agree?

It works for CD, but I don't think it matters what the audio source is.

I noticed yeasterday that with it set to HIGH, I could make out that that volume increased albeit it not much. It seems to increase the volume when passing 40mph and decrease when passing 20mph.

The advantage is the trucks are pretty quiet inside the cab so they dont really need to make the stereo that much louder.

Ok, I guess i heard it.  It was a bit more sublte, even on "high" than I expected, but the reference to the speeds help me know when to pay attention.  I guess I am not going deaf after all - though my lovely wife may have a differing opinion on that score
