Can anyone tell me if it would be worth my time to invest in a performanc computer chip for my 2000 Fronier? Looking to improve fuel mileage. Engine is a 2.4L.

it depends upon what "chip" you're talking about. Most are
junk and actually are just a resistor. You'd be looking at
spending quite a bit of money for ECU reflash from
somewhere like JWT (Jim Wolf Technology) or 4x4parts.com
honestly the best way to go is a intake, exhaust, bed
cover/topper, properly inflated stock tires, and keep your
foot off the floor

I checked out the Jim Wolf Technology. It is not cheap
but, I think it would be worth it in the long run. I plan
on having this truck for a long time. I had my 95 Hard
Body for fourteen years with over 250,000 miles. Wish I
would have never sold it. By intake, do you mean cold air
intake? What type of exhaust? Thanks.

By intake I do mean a cold air intake. Honestly I'm not
a huge fan of K&N, too much oil and I've known a few
people to have problems. However when I did have my
Frontier with a 2.4L I was running a stock replacement
K&N. Didn't have a single problem.
Exhaust, just something that flows a little better. Best
way is to hit youtube and find something you like the
sound of. Heck even a large flowmaster or magnaflow that
won't change your sound but flow a little better will
help. You don't have to go crazy like I did for my X-
runner. I noticed bigger increase of MPG by getting the
bed cover than I did the exhaust.
