ok, question, using MDF spacers..one member stated he was able to fit 6 1/4 in the rear, that's great, did you put 2 or 3-way speakers back there as well as the 6"x9"'s up front are they multi range speakers or are they components, and did you leave the built in tweeters up front if you have a second gen. fronty.

i'm trying to decide what i want to do. either to go with 2-way speakers in the rear and front and bypass the tweeters built in. (unless there is a way to have them still function, even tho i'd have 2 or 3 way speakers up front as well) or to go with components and not mess with the tweeters up front and just leave them as is and put some midranges in front and rear spaces and then go with a self made box for an 8" sub behind the rear of my 01 CC SE

any thoughts, btw i'm not looking to have sick ear drum breaking sound, just better than what is in their stock and have some decent bass with the sub, prolly go with a small but effective amp

I would personnaly go with components, and change the tweeters out with the new ones.  A 2-way in the rear will do just fine.

well then next question would be what do you recommend, I like bass, but dont' wanna go bass heavy since i'm gonna be putting a sub in the back, i tend to like kenwood, seem to be good all around speakers and not overpriced.

If you're looking to keep the cost down, but get some nice sound.  I would recommend Pok, Clarion, Infinity, CDT.

Clarion has some really nice highs, that's what I use in my Maxima.  They come in clear no matter how high you push them, and the mids are decent.

It depends upon how much quality you want.  Rainbow will give you excellent quality, but is very expensive.  If you want all around good SQ and SPL... Memphis M-Class.  It's a very versatile subwoofer that can be used in Sealed and ported enclosures and sounds good.

Don't let them talk you into a PR series though, while they're decent, they don't respond as well as the M-Class.
