Hi Guys,
I need some help with my possessed radio components. I have a 2005 Nismo Frontier King Cab with the upgraded 6 disk stereo (not the RF stereo). I bought the following components and had them installed professionally: Alpine MRV 345 V12 Amp, SPS-171 component speakers, and the SPS-170 speakers. I left the stock radio in the truck. The system worked great for about 3 months, and it sounded terrific. Now, all of a sudden I am having issues.
I’m going to describe the different problems I have had over a one week period.
Day 1, turned on the stereo and the back speakers are silent. The front tweeters and the front speakers work. Amp is on.
Day 2, same problem as above on my morning drive to work. Amp is on. Start the truck up to drive home from work, and all 6 speakers work. Amp is on.
Day 3, start up the truck, turn on the stereo, and the sound is really low. I turn up the volume all the way to the max setting 31, and I can barely hear it. The stereo sounds like the volume is set to level 5. It stays this way for the whole ride. Amp is on.
Day 4, same as Day 3. Amp is on.
Day 5, Start up the Truck, turn on the stereo, the left front tweeter works and the left front door speaker works. The back speakers, right front tweeter, and right front door speaker are out. Amp is on. I stop at my destination for about two hours. I get back in the truck, start it up, and all of the 6 speakers work again. Amp is on.
Help! Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on with my system??? There is no buzzing sound or strange noises coming from the speakers whether they are working or not. I have also not seen any error messages from the amplifier LCD. The amp is wired directly to the battery, and the installer used two of those RCA boxes to connect the radio to the amp.
I am at a loss as to why this erratic behavior is happening to my system. Any help you could give me would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jerry
