Hey I'm a new Frontier owner but I wanted to know how much wattage is put into the stock audio in a Frontier King Cab XE.....just so I can get an idea on what to upgrade from.  I'm so Noob at this audio stuff that I'm considering purchasing some recommended audio and having somebody like BestBuy install it for me.  I'm guessing it comes with no sub correct?

Don't let best buy do it! Research installers by going around and actually talking to the folks doing the job! Otherwise you are likely to get someone who is a hack installer! This is your vehicle....be sure the person actually performing the install is someone you are comfortable with. Some installers even have photo books of work they are proud of!

I would agree, shop around to see who will give you the best deal and also best quality, you don't want someone hacking your truck up.

As far as stock wattage it would depend on the year probably and what was "stock" audio for your truck, as some came with a Rockford Fosgate setup that probably had more power than the standard nissan audio. I know that for the 2001, I found some data I think on www.nissanhelp.com that indicated my stereo was 4x25W. You might want to take a look at that site, and see if you can find some info, but to be honest, after a quick peek i didn't see any data on newer models audio power specs. Might try the owners manual.

Remember, Power = loud, but it also = SQ (Sound quality) Also over match your amp to your speakers. All amps have a level of distortion built into them. For example, if you have 50W speakers, then get a 75-100W amp (per each 50W speaker). Does that make sense? Each 50W speaker has to have 75W to it. IE, four 50W speakers = a 75W 4 channel amp. In subs, the rule of thumb is to double the power rating of the sub.
