Noobie McNooberton here from the Texas.

VW guy for the most part but i recently picked up my dad's old frontier
that he bought new in 2000 and proceeded to drive the crap out of.
Almost 300k and it finally crapped out on him so he tore into it trying to
find the problem and ended up pulling the motor shortly before buying a
tacoma.
My sierra was stolen around this time so i had an opening in the driveway
and i decided to take on the frontier project.

By that time the motor had sat out in the driveway for a good amount of
time and i had no clue how bad of shape it was in, so i decided to replace
rather than attempt a refurb.
Obviously there were the temptations to try dropping in something
ridiculous but i decided to stick with the 3.3 as I wanted it running
soonish and the last motor proved very reliable.

so between waiting on parts and my schedule it has taken me a few
months to get it going but I finally fired it up and buttoned up most of the
loose ends this last weekend.
A/C is currently out of order because it leaks on that stupid fitting atop
the compressor and i need to adjust the clutch a hair but i can't complain.
Love this truck and am looking forward to learning from everyone while i
continue to work on and eventually mod it.

..

Welcome to the group.
The truck looks great. Glad your fixing it up.
I'm Happy with mine and the A/C has worked perfect for over
14 years. It sure felt good yesterday when it was 104* in
Burleson Tx!

Have a good one Don S..
