I guess you already know that Renault bought 33% of Nissan Motors here a while back .

... Thanks, I didn’t know what kind of reputation Renault had in France. In 1961 I had to replace a water pump on a Renault with a rear engine. I will never forget it because I had to grind the sides of a 9/16^th socket for clearance on a bolt under the valve cover. I still have and use that 9/16^th socket.

... Without my knowledge a grown daughter of mine bought a Renault in the early 1970’s. The parts were very hard to get. The windshield wiper drive unit and motor was a very strange design and took 6 months to get a new one. The car could not be driven for the 6 months due to not passing a state safety inspection.

... On the other hand, I’ve had 6 Datsun/Nissan Vehicles over the last twenty two years and they have all been almost perfect.
