I'm strongly considering a 2015 Nissan Frontier. I have not test
driven any of the new trucks. The last truck I drove was our family's
Ford Ranger. I loved it and I would like to own another truck.
I know that, relative to other mid-sized pickups, the cabin and
engine are dated. With that said the truck has great bang for the
buck. I can find crew-cab 2015 Frontiers for around $20k. I cannot
for the Tacoma nor the Colorado.
So tell me, why did you chose the Frontier over other trucks and
would you purchase the vehicle again in hindsight? Oh, and how do
car seats fare in the crew-cab? :D

Harry,
I chose a Nissan Frontier because it was the cheapest
New Truck that was available in 2013. And because the
Truck before this was a '93 Nissan Hardbody KC that I
drove for 20 year's.
IMO You should really think hard about getting a New
Frontier rather than a used Frontier. Here in my
Area,, According to TrueCar.com, they are selling
basic 2.5L Manual Shift 2WD King Cab's out the door
for about $16,500. My '93 Hardbody was a 4 cylinder
AT 2wd King Cab and It was a good truck.
Before you lay down money on a Used Truck, check out
Truecar.com to see what the lowest price people are
paying in your area. If other's can get it at a low
price,, then so can YOU.
If you get a New Truck,, and Take Really good care of
it,, You should be able to get over 300K on the
4cylinder 2.5L. That mean's No abuse in the Mud,
Water, or Rough Offroading, and doing the Preventative
Maintenance that Nissan Recommend's in the Owner's
Manual.
As far as the Frontier being outdated,, Actually
that's a good thing,, in that the Engine's and
Transmission's have been out long enough to get the
bug's out of them.
The talk is that the New Model Frontier is comeing out
in 2020, so people in the know,, want to get a 2nd Gen
Frontier rather than be a Beta Tester for the New
Model 3rd Gen Frontier.
According to Truecar in my area,, they are selling
SVV6 KC 2WD AT out the door in my area for about 21K,
so I myself wouldn't even consider laying down 20K for
a Used Truck.
When the Gen 3's hit the dealership's,, there is going
to be a Run for the Gen 2's and the Gen 2's will be
snatched up fast and I don't imagine that they will be
letting them go at the price's they are selling them
now.
