I am considering a 2006 Frontier XE King Cab 4cyl Automatic to replace an old Toyota pickup. The Frontier seems to be the best choice for the money that I have to spend. I have no experience with Nissan trucks. I know that even after 19 years getting parts for my 87 Toyota is no problem. Is it the same with Nissan's? What can I expect as far as reliability and gas mileage from the 4cyl / Auto combination?

To be Honest... go with a used 98-04 Frontier. The new ones are having interesting problems. Plus the 2.5L I-4 cyl is the same oil consuming engine used in the Sentra and Altima. Which Nissan is finally starting to admit there's a problem with.

Your best bet would be a Tacoma if you want brand new. Lately all of the companies are having problems.
