I bought some automatic transmission fluid out of habit...but I have a manual transmission truck. Was wondering if putting it in would make any difference?

Anybody want to tackle this difficult question???

I think the manuals take GL-4 or GL-5 depending on year I do not think putting Auto fluid in it would be a good idea.

Yeah I called my local amsoil dealer and he told me the same thing. Gear oil and transmission fluid are 2 very different things. I haven't done it I was just wondering about it is all. I'm going to get some amsoil gear oil and change that out myself as well. I changed my oil for the first tinme a couple of weeks ago!!!!!! YAY!!!!! It was very easy. Then a week later chnged out my brake pads!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! I'm getting to be a regular master mechanic. Aren't haynes manuals great ???? Oh and by the way...you can buy amsoil @ www.lubedepot.com I changed my oil and now I don't have to do it again for 25,000 miles can you believe that?? amsoil guarantees their oil to last for 25,000 miles??? beat that conventional motor oil!!!!

Well anyway....thanks for the advice.

anyone who wants to call me really can you know....615-483-3597 is my real mobile phone number. ask for richard.
