With all the electronics and options on my 2010 Pro-4x quad cab, including
blue tooth, Nissan does not put a compass or exterior thermometer on the
vehicle - which I think is much more important for this type of vehicle than
blue tooth...
Anyone install a good compass or exterior thermometer? If so, which do you
suggest.
thanks

Depends on which "package" you have, they are available
thru Nissan or GOOGLE it.

I installed a Gentex mirror that has temp, compass, and homelink.  You can get a similar mirror by Gentex (they make the OEM mirrir for Nissan) without the homelink if you'd prefer.  Here's a write-up on the mirror from my site:

To get a King Cab with manual transmission (looked all over New England) I had to take what was on the truck. So my '12 SV with Premium Utility Package has the temperature and direction displayed in the corner of the rear view mirror. It surprised me how quickly I began to enjoy - especially the temperature messages, as she (the truck) likes to warn me that it is ICY. No kiddin'. After all these years, I can figure that out myself. So I just grin and enjoy it. I bet you'll find yours worthwhile too.

Never would've shelled out for the utilitrack system in the bed, either, but once I saw it, I totally wanted it. Needless to say, I immediately removed the moveable cleats and safely stowed them in a cardboard box in the cab.

I also put a Gentex mirror in my truck, directions/picture from this site made it easy.  Only feature I'd like to see added would be a blue tooth built into mirror too.

I have a 2005 SE model and it has a bare-bones mirror with no electronics at all. Do you know if the wire harness connector is in trucks without the better mirrors? I guess I need to pull back my headliner and see if it's there.

I would like to add the same mirror, but won't if there is no harness to support it's functions.

I know Nissan and others have wiring for options that vehicles may not have, such as fog light wiring, etc.

No, the Frontier is not pre-wired for this mirror.  It's simple to wire it, however; just follow the instructions in my original write-up (address above).
