OK, another question, re: tires.  Stock 2000 4x4 Crew Cab. Rubber needs replacing. I live in snow country, and also encounter mud, dirt, etc. Don't plan on any serious offroading, more 'round town, highway, light hauling, occasional offroad. Floor boards stay.

What are thoughts on all season vs. season specific tires?  My other vehicle is an awd S4 Audi wagon and I wouldnt think of not running snows.  Can I get away with all season/terrain year 'round?

As well, can I increase size of tire on stock rims or stick with stock specs?  Don't plan on lifting suspension.

Any other advice on rubber is appreciated.

If you plan on driving the truck all year long, and on all types of terrains... I would stick with all terrains.

You can go with a larger tire, but it will void the warranty (if you have any left at all).  As well as make your speedo run slower.  So depending upon how much bigger the tire is, the more of a difference you will have.

I would stick with a stock size, and get something in all-terrain.  BF-goodrich, Some goodyear wrangler models, Bridgestone, Pro Comp (if the size is available).

you can do a search here, 4wheelparts has some the best prices around.

On my Ranger, it came with BF Goodrich "All Terrain" KO A/T tires standard. After 57,000 miles, I finally had a brand new set installed last week. While not a cheap tire, they held up very well. For that kind of milage on a 4X4 tire, that's awesome!! I always have them rotated every other oil change. I can highly suggest these tires for your truck as well. (I intend to trade for a new Frontier possibly next year!!)
