I have a 2011 Pro-4X, with the Utilitrac system, but I want to add the factory tie-downs that come in the models that do not have the UT, does anyone know anything about putting these in? Are they bolted, riveted, held with bubble gum? I need a secure place to run a cable to lock my bicycles into the truck, and the Utilitrac, though handy, is not secure enough for me. If anyone has a part number, that would be helpful.

It would be great if someone out there made a Utilitrack
sliding "lock" that you can just use to atach your cable
to.

I see your point, NPHYLT, I would check with Yakima and
Thule to see if something is already made that utilize
the Utilitrack system without having to drill in your
bed.

Do you have a trailer hitch? You could utilize the chain
retention holes on that to run a cable up underneath the
tailgate to lock your bikes.

I also know that Rocky Mountain Mounts makes locking fork
mounts that slide perfectly unto the Utilitrack systems
on both the Tacoma and Frontier..........

Let me know how this works out, I am a new Frontier owner
and a bike enthusiast, I already have a Thule hitch rack,
but I would like an "in bed" option for spontaneous bike
riding........

If you look under your Utilitracks, front and back (both sides), you will see 2 small plugs, these are (I assume) the locations of the fixed cleats.

Got it . I never thought to look there. I still say some
sort of locking and sliding cleat would solve the whole
problem...........

I just purchased a set of 4 anchors from the dealer, cost me $36 for 4 ahchors and 8 bolts. It works great and now I have no issues tying anthing down. I popped the black plugs out and bolted in the anchors.

I did this add on several years ago and got the parts from Courtesy Nissan.  Be aware that the plugged holes, while threaded, can contain bead liner spray from the factory and you'll break off the fine threaded bolts if you don't chase the threads with a tap before you install them!  I realized this while trying to hand thread the bolts.  After chasing the threads, no problems at all.

Very good information, thank you for posting that. I would hate to ruin my day by fudging one of these.

Sure here are the part numbers, I do recall the dealer having a hard time locating them...
93806-7S200.
