I recently picked up a 2006 Frontier Crew Cab and currently
looking for a cap. I've picked up brochures from Leer,
Ranch and Century. I am looking at features like side
window doors and possibly a front window slide/dropdown
(for air and to get at rear window of truck). Anybody have
any wisdom about truck caps?

I have a LEER on my 08 SE 4X4 4 door and it looks great. Highly recommend one, no water leaks, perfect fit and the most important thing is to make sure you get it painted by a professional and the color matched.

Mine had an ARE truck cap on it when I bought. It matches the profile of the truck well. It has a sliding front window (to match the truck's sliding rear) and the rear side windows (tinted) crank out for venting. It also has an integrated rear tail light and internal light to illuminate the bed. My only complaint is that the plastic flange they used along the bottom side of the rear glass door to help seal between the rear door and tailgate can make contact with the tailgate and rub the paint. Otherwise, I like it and it's hard to imagine being with out it.
