Hello, I am currently looking at a 05 frontier le 4x4 with 60k miles.  It is clean inside and out with the exception of a ding or two from hitting a dumpster(not bad).  The guy wants 16k for it.  This is a truck I will likely put 35k a year on and want it to last till about 160k with little to no problems.  Do you think this truck is capable of that?  I hear there is an issue with the coolant getting into the tranny, this is something that I can replace in advance to prevent this problem correct?

What other recalls should I be worried about?

This truck will be a work(construction management), commuter, and snow/occasional offroad truck.

Does it sound like an OK deal?  My work is paying for 15k of it and I want to make sure it doesnt break down right after I get it...

THANKS - I am looking to buy it today so any responses would be appreciated.

I'm currently looking into possibly buying a new Frontier, but I thought I'd talk to the people who already have the truck to see what they think.

First question:

Does anyone know if the engine block is steal?

Is the hood aluminum?

Has anyone had any major problems with a new Frontier?

Does the Frontier have a timing chain or belt, I've heard both?

Thanks everyone!

I am going to go look at a 06 crew cab LE 4x4. Fully loaded with
64000 miles. Guy is asking 14999. Is this a good price?

I was looking for something with lower miles but I think the price
might be pretty good. Do these trucks have the normal japanese life
of high miles without problems. Anything I should look for? How is the
price on parts?
I plan to own this truck for at least 5 to 6 years an put another 70,000
miles on it.
