just wondering if it would even be worth it to put an air intake on my frontier. not so much for gas mileage, but it there any real performance gains?

You'll notice a higher top end speed. As well as some decent torque gains... but noticable will be the sound.

I installed the K&N FIPK intake on my Ranger, and while it wasn't cheap, I'd go that route on the Frontier as well. A lot of people mention the "noise factor" from these intakes, which is false. You can hardly tell the unit is on the truck. The exhaust system makes more noise that this intake.
