I got a check engine light, and the scanner said "P0430". There were comments about the catalytic converter, vacuum leaks, and misfires. Also said the converter may not be storing enough oxygen.
Have any of you seen this code, and how was it resolved?? Is it worth a shot to put in a new airfilter? Thanks. The truck is running great, or so it seems.

Depending on which vehicle you are talking about(sure would be nice to know), P0453 is for the Evap system pressure sensor/circuit. PS, it's Technician, NOT mechanic, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey settle down about the mechanic / technician issue. Didn't try to ruffle any feathers. If I wanted to do that, I would tell everyone how well my xmission performs with Amsoil full synthetic transmission fluid. And then to really get everyones' blood pressure through the roof, I would tell them I'm an Amsoil salesman (which I am not), and then tell them that I am the only guy selling it east of the Mississippi. Now on to serious business:
Actually it is a code P0430. Catalyst efficiency low-bank 2. Tells me the cat is defective, or engine misfire, or large vacuum leak, or a combination of the above, or oil leaking into the exhaust valve guide seals. Vehicle is an 05 Frontier with a V-6. 85,000 miles. Thanks.
