Hey y'all, I finally figured out which set of tires I think I want the most. I wanted to ask your guys' opinion's on them, as to if they'll be durable, long lasting, and worth buying.

http://www.bigo.com/item.asp?id=201

I've been using my truck for my daily driver, to/from work 18 miles one way, and my 2nd job is delivering pizza. However; I am acquiring a 96 ford aspire for that now, so the fronty will be the week-end play toy, so to speak. I want something that will of course, dig through mild mud (no plates underneath to protect the vitals) and some mild to mediocre offroading (MOAB!). I think they'll work, but if anyone has any comments, I also like the wrangler MT/R's and the BFG MT's.

Thanks,
Monkey

My past experiences with Big O lead me NOT to buy their tires.  Went in to a Big O dealer, told him I was interested in a set of tires.  "Well," he says, "we won't sell you tires if you just want them nmounted and balanced and out the door.  Oh no, you have to let us give you a certified alignment at $75 and also to replace any parts of the steering assembly we judge to be defective.  Our tires are so precious that we can't let you run on them if we don't do this FOR YOU!"

I told him he was a nut case and left.  Bought myself a set of BFG All Terrains that ran 50000 miles without any alignment or parts replacement on my truck.  Be careful dealing with these people.  I may just have hit a wierd dealer but it was a very distasteful experience.

Interesting, when I used to own my Integra, I bought 4 Khumo tires from them, no problems. The only problem was that the tires only lasted 10k miles at a time (car was in 2 accidents and alignment was a bit off)

I also got the exhaust done there.

I've always liked the service, and it's nice I can use my credit there, instead of saving up 650$.

I got a quote for like 638$ for mounted, balanced, aligned and all 4 brand new for 30x9.5x15

I want a more aggressive tire than the BFG AT's, and I don't like their MT design much, heard from friends it's too loud, drives sloppy in a DD and don't last long (30kis)

Any other recommendations are welcome though :)

Okay, I've decided to get them, after reading tons of reviews, they should wear out between 45-60k depending on how I drive them, and they should prove great for what I do.

The only problem that I am concerned with, is will they fit the stock XE alloy rim? (charcoal 6 spoke, exactly like this guy's: http://my.angrystatic.com/users/Firelli/Zeke/frontier_new.jp g)
The size that I want to fit under my truck (stock height, am willing to do the torsion crank to raise it another 1/2" to full inch if necessary) along with will it actually fit the rim?

30x9.5x15

Thanks guys. I'll be buying in roughly 1-2 weeks. (getting final OK from wife, as well as getting price quotes)

Dannyg here from the people I`ve talked to you should be fine running 30/9.50/15. The rims you have should be at 6.5 wide if not 7in wide from what I`ve seen. The torsion bar crank my not be needed depending how good your front sprinsg are

Alright, I got the tires, and I love 'em! I took 'em mudding, and did better in 2wd than I did in 4wd with my old AT's! Fantastic!

Heres some pics for those that are curious ;)

Sorry but we have a rule about wide posts.  Your photos, causes it to be necessary for many to have to scan horizontally to see the pictures. It also requires scanning horizontally to read the text in all the posts in the thread. Large pictures cause those on dial up much time to load.  640 pixels wide by 480 is a nice size. 800 by 800 is MAX

Please resize and repost.

The pictures did not all load at fifteen minutes.

Sorry Lakota, got 'em re-sized, was having internet problems that day, along with no time between jobs..

But, here they are, all 800x600,

I'll provide the direct links this time instead of inserting them into the post.

Thanks dmartin16;

With all the job losses and maybe hard times coming many will be switching back to dial up. I'm On SS and fast service would cost me six times as much as my $9.95/mo.  Juno dial up.

I’ll be more forgiving when it comes to posting tech pictures that need to show intricate detail

Thanks again! You are a scholar and a gentleman ...

lakota
