I just purchased (3/5/08) a new 2008 SE 4x4 4.0L automatic Crew Cab. I experienced a "bump" when the transmission downshifts from 4th to 3rd at 40mph to 35mph. The service manager tells me that the universal joint needs to be replaced (1011 miles). It experiences torque from the transmission. Well I would hope this is not a design flaw. Does anyone have any experience with this issue. Thanks

dannyg here the only flaw in the slaw is that d44 rearend it is an oddball the u joint problem could ended up at the factory someone drop it lost the cap and a bearing inside and just put the cap back on and installed BTW is this d44 in the frontiers the same style jeep used in there 2001- 2005 cause they had a bearing issue with them in the grands
