Hi,

I just joined today.  I've been a member of different truck forums and recently my interests shifted away from the full-size pickup into more of a midsized.

The frontier has a lot for the dollar, right now I am eyeing up a Crew SE 4x4 with the 6spd, long bed.  Its a rare find by me, but I know of 2 of them.  Carsdirect is showing I can get one of these at 200 under invoice, plus the 2500 incentive.  That beats just about any competitor I found for a midsized with equal equipment.

I was going to go with the Tundra because its got a crazy powerful engine and would meet any need I would have.  But realistically I need that much power about 3 times a year, and I commute by train to work so I'd just be having a hard time parking an underutilized truck.

My 2 questions I am posing to you all are these:

    1)  Have you seen incentives be better than 2500 historically?

    2)  What do you anticipate the life span is on a clutch in one of these trucks assuming its not getting run hard (adult owned, only burnout once in a great while :) )

Thank you in advance for your input.

I drove an old '85 King Cab for 14 years, and never replaced the clutch, although I did need to top off the fluid, once. It simply didn't have any issues, and I drive with some sense, too.

The 2002 King Cab didn't require any clutch work, either, but with my knees going bad, I traded it for the '07 with automatic tranny.

This is my second frontier and I would never buy another truck.  Quite simply a great truck for the price.  Additionally, I tow a 4k lbs boat and it feels like I have nothing behind me.
