Tall wheels with low profile tires have one advantage over the smaller wheels with high profile tires and that is a little more lateral stability in high speed maneuvering.
High profile tires like a 32 inch tire on a 15 inch wheel have a far superior spring rate for better ride comfort, better traction on trails, and ‘aired down’ can prevent getting stuck in dry sand, Another big plus for high profile tires is much less damage to tires and wheels on roads with pot-holes and debris. All Terrain treads with all add a humm to the noise level. Mud Terrain treads add a bit of a roar. And the truly aggressive treads howl and in most case will vibrate your seat! As a whole 15 inch tires and wheels cost less for the same overall size.
My 1934 Plymouth had 17 inch wheels with low profile tire… we’ve come a long way…
BTW... I got my front bracket and frame at Pep Boys
Have a good one while you can still laugh about it.. Don S..
