My only suggestion is to switch out the supercharger if you don't mind the warranty being voided.

The eatons they put in there suck.

They don't wear out easily, they just don't have whip your head back power. The one thing that I hate is the intake noise. Its not aggressive, its just a big loud whine, it got worse when I installed the Nismo Cold air intake. But it also got a little faster. You could also change out the pulley on the S/C unit and that will make it spin faster, thus compressing more air.  I am not 100 % sure that the Eaton Supercharger is the cause of the lack of power, I beleive that the VG engine is a tired powerplant that been around since the early '80's and adding a supercharger was Nissan's way to spice it up with out changing the motor, for a truck that was approaching the end of its design life.  Even the '90's Twin Turbo ZX only had 300hp, the Fronty had 220hp, I think it was maxed out. Thank God they changed to the VQ  platform for '05

yeah im very familier with SC and TC.  My question is mostly is there something common that fails on these trucks?  Anything at all i should really look at while checking this truck out?

heres something I forgot to mention and I found out about it after I bought mine, the S/C Frontier Requires Super unleaded, you can use mid-grade but your never suppose to use Reg. Regular is really hard on the knock sensor.  If the knock sensor goes out it will make the supercharger go in to "fail safe mode" this means the engine is only able to rev to 2400 rpm's until it is fixed.

You may want to check into if the rockers were replaced, from '99-'03 the rocker would tick when they were cold, only about 2-3 secs. Nissan replaced a bunch with new one. Nissan says 1 sec of ticking is ok and normal.
