I HAVE A 2006 FRONTIER XE KING CAB, AND THE TAILGATE IS VERY HEAVY, IS THERE ANY WAY TO LIGHTEN IT OR BUY A LIGHTER ONE?

You can get the vinyl ones that replace it.

you can get a spring assist kit. It adds a bar to help you raise the tailgate up. I can't remeber what it's called. I believe www.jcwhitney.com has it though.

I don't think you should mess with it. One option would be remove it entirely but put in one of those cargo nets, but really I think you should just leave it as is.
