I've searched but can't find the answer....

I've found 05- 06 leveling kits on ebay that claim you can run a 285/75/16 tire. Anybody done this? On stock wheels? I realize that toe in is affected w/ leveling kits but what about wheel camber? Thanks...Jason

Welcome to the Frontier group.

...  On my ‘99 King Cab I cranked the front torsion bars up 5/8s of an inch and installed one inch blocks in the rear to get the lift I wanted for 31 inch tires and the easy trails I do.

I also removed the rear bumper for more ground clearance and built a heavy duty hitch that protect the rear a little.

My Best to all of Y’all‘uns….

Have a good one, and CUL.. Don S..

Thanks for the reply, do you know about the 2005-06 frontiers? The spacers they sell look extreamly easy to install. Just wondering about the max tire size w/stock wheels and any camber problems. Nothing looks worse than front tires that look like this:  \   / going down the road...Jason

I am having a leveling kit installed today and am planning on running
295/75/16 tires on it after I wear out my original tires. Four Wheeler
magazine put the same leveling kit (from Stillen) on an '05 Nismo and put
33x13.5x18 tires on it, which of course is not on the factory wheels though.
I will post new pics of the leveling kit after I get it back.

Is your NISMO a 4x4? Are you going to use stock wheels? I'd appreciate your opinion on the whole thing when you get it back. Thanks man...Jason

I have an 05 Frontier and I personally wouldn't use the blocks at all.  There is a lift kit out for our truck.  I believe the one you are talking about is the one with the metal "puck" in the front.  It doesn't even come with shocks.  Look around a little more, I will, I am bored at work tonight.  If I find it before you do, I will post up.  The one thing I would tell you is to be carefull with the steering set up.  I have heard that ours kinda sucks.

Well, I got it back and so far am happy with it. The front actually looks a tiny
bit taller than the rear now, but I heard it will drop slightly after getting an
alignment which is recommended with these leveling kits. Cheif, yes mine is
a 4X4 and I plan on keeping the stock wheels on it and probably WILL go
with the 285/75/16 tire as opposed to the 295.

I have done a little research on upgrading my tires with the stock wheels and it doesn't seem like a good idea as the stock wheels can't handle the load of a larger tire. Apparently the side walls on certain tires get too hot and tend to fail. If you plan on keeping the stock(NISMO) wheels, call around and ask if there will be any problems with a larger tire on a relatively narrow wheel. I'm not saying that this will happen, just to keep this in the back of your mind while shopping for a larger tire.

As far as clearance is concerned, if you can check out automotive customizers as they have "cheap" lift kits. I believe for about $900 you can get upper control arms with springs and shocks for the rear with an add-a-leaf. Here is the link www.4x4parts.com . Go to suspension and then find your truck relatively.

Yea, kinda like the pot calling the kettle black huh?  I ordered the one from TopGunzCustom(sp?).  I compared and compared to the polly ones and this one was far mo better.  : )
