Well with a little over 4000 miles I believe I will be saying fair well to my 06 Frontier Nismo.  At about 10 am yesterday morning a sweet old lady did not see her STOP sign and crossed my path.  All I could do was hit the breaks and hold my breath.  With both air bags blown out and who knows what kind of damage under the hood I do believe that the insurance will total it.  Well let me put it this way that’s what I hope they do because once you wreck a truck or car they never drive the same again.  After talking with some people in the know, they say due to the replacement of the air bags being so costly most likely it will be totaled.  So all I can do is sit and wait.   I will say one thing.  I strongly believe that the brush bar distributed the impact to the farm and that caused there to be less damage to the front end.  So get a brush guard if you can.  JUST IN CASE you come across a sweet old lady.

..

DavesNismo17403;

What a shame.

... They may total it but I'll bet it gets repaired. I'd worry about proper repairs to the air bags.

Have a good one,   and CUL.. Don S..

Bugger.  You should hope that it gets written off...it would be better to get the money from insurance company and buy a brand new one.  It'll never be the same if it is repaired.

Those bars must have done a bit of damage to the other car?

Update.

I was not totaled as I wished it would have been.  There is about $9,000.00 in damage.

With the holydays it is going to take about 5 weeks to get repaired.  So for now I am stuck driving this so called “truck” made by GMC.  As the days go by I miss my Nissan more and more.

Will say one thing guys if you can have the Brush Bar installed.  You should,  I truly feel that it absorbed the impact and distributed the force to the frame of the truck and that caused there to be less damage the originally thought.

Joel,

Yes I did come out fine and I did have a passenger he suffered brused knees and the seatbelt hurt his shoulder.  Nothing broke loose in the cab of the truck.  The impact did blow out both front airbags and that caused the windshield to crack.  I do not have any pic of the inside of the truck.

I see that you have a 1995 Ford BroncoXL.  That is one great vehicle..I miss my 94 BroncoXl... Do you have any pic of your Nissan or Bronco?

Dave

Well I got my truck back last Thursday and it went back into the shop on Monday.  It looks good but the body lines where all wrong and so when the body shop corrected there mistakes they chipped the hood and fender.  What a pain in the ass.  So I got to drive it for a few days and found other things that where wrong with it.  One thing that has me concerned is that it makes a grinding sound when you turn left.  I will keep you guys up to date and post new pic’s when I have it for more then a week.
