I currently have a Magnaflow cat back system on my 04 Ranger. When I first got it installed, it was quite loud inside the cab, but after a few months it settled down to a nice sounding system!!

Here's the place I ordered it from.

It's more a preference of sound than what it'll do for your HP.

I beg to differ. Over a stock exhaust system, "along" with an K&N Intake, a Magnaflow or flowmaster will allow your engine to breath better, thus enhancing the HP rating.

Just replace your stock muffler with a flowmaster or something.  Check Banks' website, I think they have an after cat exhaust for our trucks.

It was actually more a reference to squeezing the most HP out of an engine.  But for an aftermarket muffler to really play that key of role to depend upon who made it, you would have to put Big Block in there, and be using it to race.

But for everyday driving, it comes down to what you want it to sound like, not how much HP it's going to give you.

Take a good look at their muffler.  How loud it could be will be determined by how big the muffler is.  The smaller it is, the louder it will be.
