After countless hours of research I have found a performance mod from python industries.  It is a version of the venom 400. Just wondering if anyone has tried it before I buy it? They claim it can increase engine output by 25% to 30%. Wondering if anyone knows of any other products i might look into or consider? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Nitewulf;

This implies that my 170 hp V-6 would gain over 35 horsepower. Why didn’t Nissan think of that?

Perhaps the structure of the engine is not designed for that much power and still have a long service life.

And added power can also mean more fuel consumed.

... Also I’ll bet you left out two important words in what they claimed… these are ”UP TO”. This means their system might only add one horse power. Now when they say...   ”GUARANTEED TO”… THAT WILL BE THE DAY.

Have a good one   and  CUL.. Don S..

I'm considering installing a cold air induction system.  Nissan sells these, so they must be an acceptable add-on.  The claims for increased performance and mileage are not so great as to be unbelievable.  I've seen posts from owners who have gotten another 1 mpg using one.  I think the torque increase is supposed to be around 10-15 ft lbs.

Thanks for the replies Lakota and Cracker39.  K&N makes a complete cold air kit Cracker that I would look into. Lakota ,trying not to sound snippy, but i said it can add 25% to 30%. Was asking if anyone had tried one. The 300$ for the module is alot to spend if it isn't going to work. Just looking to put a little more pep in my frontys step.  Lakota you seem to be a veteran at the forum, is there anyone you might suggest getting ahold of that might know how to accomplish this feat?  I am greatful to know that I am not the only one looking to push the envelope and sqeeze more from my baby. will get yall some pics soon.

.

Nitewulf;

... Sorry about going off half cocked!

I just get PO'ed about the words 'up to' (that I saw in my mind) when I want to know what a product will really do for me.

Seems like all real horse power gains are a ten dollar bill per horse power and some of those horses are little Shetlands.

... Louder exhaust systems will make you think you're going faster than the gains that have actually happened. But noise attracts the attention of the LEO's.

... If you have more power you have you will use it more and more power means more fuel consumed.

... Over the years I’ve pooped a lot of bucks chasing the god of long black marks behind my trucks while dragging off at red lights and such. What did it get me? A pumped ego and a few traffic tickets.

Well, if we keep this thread going maybe someone will jump in with the answer (Facts I hope)  that WE are looking for.

Have a good one, and  CUL.. Don S..

Very true!! Well I only have pics of my 68 Camero right now, which I dont think belong on a nissan site, can post em here if requested I guess. To the more gas thing, not too worried about that part, want some of the feeling of the 327 from the 3.3 in the fronty. Have the c a i and have it scheduled for a flowmaster install next tuesday. Trying to get as much out of it as i can, know what i mean? If it uses a bit more gas then oh well, as the saying goes, ya gotta pay to play. Pics of my 01 coming soon, only had it 3 months so havent gotten it too far from stock yet. window tint hard top shell painted to match. Work in progress.

Oh yeah one other thing Lakota, what are the thoughts of a real time chat room, seems that the forum has enough members. Seems to be a thing you mods might want to throw on the table for discussion. People frequent chats often enough that maybe one day you can ask in real time and get answers then.
