I have a 2001 Nissan Frontier and the AC has lately only worked on the highest level and not the lower three. anyone know anything? thanks

Can't tell you for sure on your truck but in years past, there was two fuses for the blower motor.

One was for the circuit for the lower speeds and the second fuse was a separate, higher amp fuse that was for the high speed only.

Could be that you just have a blown fuse that controls the lower speed settings.

Easy way to find out.  Does the blower only work on high for ALL settings (ie Defrost, vent, AC)... or just the AC?

If the blower doesn't work at all on the lower settings, either the fuse... though most systems just use one fuse... or your resistor block is blown.

There's a100% chance that the fan motor resistor is bad.

Same thing happened to both our Nissan Altima and Nissan Frontier.  As stated in another reply it is the fan motor resistor.  In Canada it cost $100 to have them replaced.
