Bought an 04 XE Crew short-bed from Dealer.  I have 35,552 miles on it (so about to run out of warranty).  I've found that on really tight turns (esp. to Left) I get a "binding" noise like metal rubbing together.  Haven't found any TSB's on this and am scheduled to take in for service next week.  Any thoughts on this being a parts interference/wear?  Only 35k miles wouldn't think a ball joint or tension/torsion issue.

Surprised so very few TSB's on this vehicle.

Thoughts?

Yep, even the old Hardbodies had this problem.  But their's could get so bad it did it on a decent bump.

I have a 04 frotier crew cab and it does the same thing as well. I looked under my truck and it's a screw on each side close to the tires. What is the purpose of this and would it be ok to tighten them up?
Thanks.

That should be your steering stops.  Keeps from turning the wheel so far to either direction.  But they're usually adjusted to a certain point so it won't cause major tire rubbing when turning, or bind the linkage up.

It seems that if I tightened them I would be able to turn my wheels more. I will just adjust them enough so that I can turn better.

They are set at the Factory for a reason the only reason to "Adjust them" is if you are having rubbing Issues with a larger tire they wont help you turn better.

For got you might also want to check the sway bar mounts and the end links they work them selfs loose some times.
