I have a 2011 Frontier King Cab and am looking at a bed.
the bed is from a 2005.. the interchange book says it won't
fit. anyone know the difference in beds from a 2005 to a
2011?

Tommie,
At some point they changed the tailgate to include a little
spoiler at the top. So change's have been made over the
year's, but what else changed I don't know.
A quick call to the Dealer part's dept. might help, but
best to find one that say's will fit, imo.

Tommie,
Like you, I like to save money every chance I get.
Let us know how you come out and the bed that you decide to
get if it fit's Perfect or not.
I've been down this road on other project's and when
possible have found in the long run to make sure part's fit
perfect beforehand, rather than trying to Rig a part to
fit.
Good Luck and let us know how it is going.

I will let you know how it turns out.. I bought it and it
is being delivered Wednesday.. wound up paying 350.00 for
it.. my bed is in such bad shape would be too much work to
repair it and I didn't pay but 2k for the truck so I could
not see myself putting 1500 into a bed.. the truck is a
2011 and had 69k miles on it..had a blown head gasket and
they let water sit in the cylinders for 2 years.. I wound
up putting a used engine I bought for 400 in it and had the
head reworked .. Turned out to run really good so now
working on the body.. was a work truck so they beat it up
pretty good. after the bed just a few smaller dents in the
doors and cab the painting it.. anyhow.. will let you know
