Just bought a 06 Frontier Crew Cab with Rockford Fosgate system upgrade. I opened up the subwoofer enclosure to find 2 x GECC 6" subs in there . Needless to say they are not very powerful. So I am going to buy the Supercrew enclosure that fits under the rear seat, place a JL 10W0 in there driven by a Kicker IX402. Luckily all those parts came out of my old vehicle.
1) Has anyone else replaced the RF subs with a supercrew box?
2) Is there any sense in replacing the 6" subs with better 6" subs and running 1x10" + 2x6" subs ?

How much room is there in the box... a pic would help. You might be able to upgrade to 2 8" subs.

There is room in that supercrew box for 2x8" or 1x10". I considered 2x8s, but I already have the 10"
I envy those that decided to buy the King Cab, so much room to play with at the back

I would just disconnect the RF subs then. And go with a good component set up front to offset the 10".

I bought the same CC 06 with the upgraded Fosgate setup. Not worth $850.00. The sub box really don't kick, espeacially with the 6 other speaker going on the truck. You can even hear the bass from the subs. But the head unit is quite remarkable. Very impressed. Play mp3 and in some radio station here in Cali. you get the name displayed, song and artist playing. What I did is replaced the stock sub box with 2 6.5" SAS bazooka tubes with a Memphis 500 mono amp and this baby rocks. Definitely recommend this setup. They fit perfectly snugg underneith the rear seats. Bass sounds amazing even with the amp at alittle past half way.

dont forget, you need to match the sub to the box. the small sub box is .6X cubic feet and the larger is .85 i believe. here is a link to some subs with there mounting depth, watts(rms), and the cubic feet min requirement. i forgot to say mounting depth is an issue with that box as well. http://www.clubfrontier.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3272

Awesome, that was exactly what I was looking for.
I have just ordered the larger of the two (0.85 cu ft) boxes with space for 1 x 10" downward firing sub. It says the install depth is 5.5" but once it gets here I shall take it to the shop and see which subs fit.
Once it's in I shall post pictures.
Thanks again Mylt1

If you can add a 1/2" ring, then a JL Audio 10W3v2 will fit. Not sure why I like it, but I tend towards that sub.
