I called 2 different dealerships and both gave me different service packages for my
2018 Nissan Frontier | 15K Maintenance.
What do you guys recommend for service?
What is the 'oil treatment additive' they keep pushing and should I do it?

Lu,
I bought my 2013 New. I follow the Guideline's in the
Owner's Manual and Maintenance Manual. I do as much
of the preventative maintenance myself that I can. I
did the same thing on my 1st Nissan Truck and drove it
for 20 year's. So I recommend following the
Guidline's in the Owner's Manual and Maintenance
Manual.
Oil Treatment Additive? The Owner's Manual and
Maintenance Manual, at least Mine, say's not to use
any additive's.
I change the oil out at 5K Mile's or every 6 month's
whichever come's 1st.
I've also switched over to Castrol Magnatec Full
Synthetic 5w30. Watch the Video:

At Walmart in the 5qt jug it's 21 $'s so the Price is
Right.
Just study and follow the guideline's for the correct
Fluid's and Preventative Maintenance Schedule in the
Owner's Manual and Maintenance Manual is my advice.

Rubble, I am taking your advice and doing the Owner's Manual Maintenance. So oil/filter change (full synthetic $59.99) and in-cabin filter change ($79.00). They rotate the tires for, cap off fluids, car wash, and 167 point inspection free.
If I start to do the services myself, how do I get them acknowledged on car-fax, so I have a higher resale value in the future?

Lu,
You got me on the Car-Fax, never gave that a thought.
However I've kept my receipt's for the Oil, Filter,
Rear Axle Oil, and any other Fluid's like antifreeze,
etc, especially during the warranty period. I also
enter in the Maintenance Manual date/mileage and what
I did. I also bought a Hard Cover booklet at Staple's
(Sort of like a Diary, but for My detailed Maintenance
Note's) cause not enough room in the Maintenance
Booklet that came with Truck. I do the same thing
with my other machine's ie Tractor, LawnTractor,
Brushcutter, etc., Mainly because I forget what and
when I've done maintenance and keeping a written
record keep's me from Redoing what I've allready done.
My SVV6 AT 2wd, came from the Factory with low Coolant
and Low ATF. The low coolant was easy to correct.
The Low ATF was causing a jerk on takeoff from a
Traffic Light etc. It took me a while by studying the
Nissan Service Manual to figure out how to check the
ATF Level properly and adding ATF without overfilling.
I'm not going to tell you how long it took me,, but
I'm embarrassed to say that it took me a long time,
but I finally got it right and no more jerk on
takeoff.
As long as I don't make a mistake,, I save quiet a bit
of money doing the preventative maintenance myself.
Doing it yourself is easy to make a mistake and then
instead of saveing money,, it can cost a Whole Lot
more in Repair Work.
Checking and/or changeing the Cabin Filter's is pretty
easy,, but the plastic tab that hold's the access door
is very easy to break. A lot of us DIY's have broken
that tab,, but there is a Hole that Nissan Provided in
the access door to use a screw/bolt.
One thing come's to mind that cause many owner's Grief
is Corrosion building up on the Battery Terminal's.
An easy way to prevent that is to put a heavy coating
of Grease covering the Terminal's and the bare metal
end's of the Cable's. On the Positive Cable,, there
is some electrical that you don't want to get
Corrosion on. I've been useing Grease on Battery
Terminal/Cable End's for a long long time,, it's easy
and it work's.
You can get free access to the Nissan Factory Service
Manual by doing a Google Search or you can get the
service manual in PDF from Reliable-Store.com for 9
$'s. I got mine from Reliable-Store, made a Folder
and downloaded the PDF File's to that Folder on my
Desktop, then Burned those File's to a CD, so that I
have a Backup Hard Copy.
Be sure to watch that video of Castrol Magnatec, that
video sold me on the Magnatec.
If you start doing your own preventative maintenance I
strongly advise useing a geniune Nissan Oil Filter.
Beelineparts.com has free shipping and for the V6
Filter they have them for 8 $'s and change. This is
for a V6 Filter, if you have a 4 cyl. It's probably a
different Filter.

The price of these filter's have gone up, when I

Lu, I have over 130,000 miles on a 2005 Frontier crew cab. Change
the oil every four or five thousand or sooner if not driven over time.
Keep up with other issues, from the battery, shocks, tires, alignment
to propeller shaft lube. Since there was an issue with the radiator
leaking into the trans cooler, I replaced it about 50,000. When the
dealer did a major service at 100,00 I opted to replace the water
pump as cheap insurance. One of the other things to do is to use
waxoil in some of the sheet metal areas that are not painted. My
biggest issues have been from driving in salt and calcium winter
roads and this demands constant attention. Each spring the frame
and other areas get inspected and rust is removed and coated with
Eastwood products....these frames are well built! One particular area
of concern should be the area around the gas filling area on the crew
cab models. Salt and debris tend to gather which results in rusty
sheet metal behind the gas cap area. I may be losing this battle even
though I attempted to fix the rust. This spring, I plan on modifying
rear plastic fender liners from a late model Ford to combat the salt
issues. Otherwise, wash, wax, maintain and drive as these trucks
haven't been overly decorated with the electronic genie or had
Rubbermaid add apendages to make it appear fast.
