MANUAL TRANS
While driving at interstate speeds, I notice the smell of
80w90. Blew it off, thinking it had to be a greasy truck in
traffic. I checked my Front and Rear Diff and Trans covers
and they are dry. Decided to put my nose by the top opening
of the shift boot...sure 'nuff. Thats where it is coming
from.
Is there an easily accessible (from the inside) seal or
additional boot down there that may need to be replaced?
Thanks

If the boot is intact, you may just need a zip tie to
secure it. Remove the shift knob(unscrew it), remove the
trim around the shifter( it is removed by prying it
upward). If I remember correctly, the cup holder needs to
be removed first.
