The wife and I done all the San Juan Mountains have to offer in our 4x4 Frontier. And we did every thing at least 3 times by in cluding our '76 JeepWagoneer and '99 Grand Cherokee. The '76 Wagoneer in 22 years did 261 Colorado Mountains Passes and The Frontier did about 50 or so. The scary ones are Black Bear and Red Cone (both one way passes) but all of the off road passes can be bad in bad weather. Pookeepies Gulch (up hill) is one of the difficult ones. I have videos of Us doing 34 of the off road passes...
Remember... driving off one of these roads on a cliff does not kill you... it's the sudden stop at the bottom!!!

Just the person I'm looking for.
Haven't drink in 26 years so I'll definately be sober.
I've off roaded at several off road vehicle parks here in Nor Cal a few times. I understand that you don't do it like they do in the TV commercials......slow, try to keep all the rubber on the ground, ride the high sides and not the ditches, etc.
I have a 2012 Nissan Frontier Kingcab 4x4, V6. It has the appearance Pkg. so it came with the 18" wheels, all season tires however, no skid plates. I measured and it has 9" clearance on flat ground.
Do you think it's possible to do the Alpine Loop, Engineer Pass and Cinnamin Pass in my stock truck without destroying something? Oh, and I plan to be there in mid Sept. so the weather should still be dry (I hope!).
I'd rather do the Alpine Loop in my truck for two reasons. 1. So I can say I did it in my truck and 2. So I don't have to shell out $200 to rent a Jeep Rubicon for the day.
What do you think.....can I do it?
