So, I am the owner of a 2005 Nissan Maxima. One day I pull into my driveway (most of the way) and realize I need to move the trash cans 1st, so... I turn off my car,run inside, move the cans & get back in my car to pull it forward & suddenly it won't start but every time I turn the key into the on position the air comes on full blast (not cold but my air hasn't worked for a min)and I am unable to shut it off by doing anything other than shutting off the whole car. It's trying to turn the engine over but can't quite pull it off. I have my car towed to the Nissan dealership & they claim to have run a diagnostics on it which informed them the problem is that I need a new A/C amplifier... they claim that is the reason my car will not start. Does that sound right? They also quoted me the 'discounted price' (NOT) of $675.00... Parts & Labor included of course... QWACK! I found a slightly used one online for $89.00! Any suggestions?

I find it hard to believe this will cause a "no-start"
condition. Low battery voltage can cause the same concerns
you are having. Is there another dealer close by to get a
second opinion?
