Please Advise.  I just bought a 02 Frontier (Crewcab/Longbed/Off Road/AT/V6) with the front drive shaft out! Don't ask me why.  AFter I bought it I reached down and grabbed the shaft connection point hanging out the back of the t-case and it felt as wobbly as a loose tooth!  I think thats bad.

It looks like the axles unbolt from it and then its just three or four brackets and mounts right?  I don't even have to remove the wheels, do I?

Also what else fits this truck as I starting looking around for one?  other years and models?

thanks

virgin post!!!!!

welcome to the org.

wow talking about walking right into a project. Question,
is the yoke sticking out of the back of the t-case wobbly,
or just the u-joint. If just the u-joint is flopping
around you can replace just those. If it's the yoke,
you'll need to get the transfer case rebuilt or get a
replacement.

You can use a 01-03 frontier, and i'm not 100% sure, but i
believe the 01-03 Xterra used the same transfer case.
