the other day i saw a huge puddle that looked like fun.... but my open k&n air filter didnt think so and sucked in a lot of water. the engine is hydrolocked... there is definately some water in the cylinders... i unscerewed the drainplug for the oil and water came out. Me and my dad tryed taking the sparkplugs out to crank it over without compression and try to get the water out of there... but you have to disconnect nearly every hose on the throttle body... plus the throttle body itself... i am stuck in the middle of this process because there are a few hoses on the backside of the throttle body that are nearly impossible to get off. So im stuck on ideas to get my baby going again.... anyone else got one?

Some WD-40 down the spark plug holes, and some time to dry.

..

... The WD-40 is good for getting water out of cracks and little holes but does not prevent rust.

... In the old days we, in most cases, would blow out the starters, generators, manifolds and etc. with compressed air First! Then we drained what we could out of the engine. We pulled the oil filter off, pulled the spark plugs and pulled the coil wire. We then cranked the engine over about 30 seconds with the drain plug still out.

... Next, with the drain plug replaced, and with new filter and the crankcase filled with a mix of light viscosity cheap motor oil and 20% alcohol we cranked the engine without firing it up for a couple of minutes. Then we did a normal oil and filter change.

... Check ALL the running gear for water in the lubricant. I’ve even lost a full set of front wheel bearings because of a bad inter seal. I have since quit playing in water and mud…. But I let the grand-kids do it...  they even have a sand box!

Rocks Rule!

Have a good one ;) and CUL Don S.. aka lakota

Be little more open minded hintonl, because without these "people" we'd never come up with an issue like this.  And I woulld probably drive through the puddle myself.

I was saying use WD-40 as it displaces the water in the cumbustion chamber, allowing it to exit more quickly.  Once it's out and the chamber sealed again with fuel running back through it, rust shouldn't be a problem.

That is Stock gearing 2:1  whats your point on that. So what you have on board air hell I have a 20.00 Wal Mart air compressor so I have on board air too.  I hope you get your truck fixed  maybe next time you will check to see how deep it is before you go for a swim
