Anyone paint their flares ?  Say a different color?  Any suggestions?

I did a search on the forum and couldn't sort out much. Mine is silver and

I would like to paint the flares flat black, maybe.

If you really wanna go flat black, I'd go down to the parts or ranch store and pick up a few cans of spray on bedliner.  I use a rubberized bumper protectant.  Remove the flares and sand them with 1500 grit paper, careful of edges.  Spray a few layers, giving drying time in between.

I might give it a try. I orderd a quart of herculiner  for  the bed rail/edges. Maybe try the fender flares if I have enough left.

Thanks !

How hard are the fender flares to remove?   jwmurf, did you remove yours for painting?

I bet it looks sharp, breaks it up a little.  I haven't had much time to mess with my Frontier, keeping us to busy at work.

I like the idea of the spray on bedliner to.  In this part of the world you have to pretty much order anything.  So it is nice to find out a little info before a person goes to the trouble a project.  Occasionaly I get to Billings Montana, where they have a stores and places to check out products, and they have running water and electricity and a Wallyworld!

I did take mine off, took about 5 minutes on each one, its not hard at all, just a bunch of screws. The paint looks great, so far its holding up. I dont go off roading or anything, but the good thing about that paint is that its easy to touch up if you scratch or miss a spot, like me...

So yeah, if you paint them make sure you use an adhesion
promoter, mine peeled off with regular painters tape,
awesome...

Hey buddy i would like to request for pictures of your experiment on your fender! If it is okay with you. I just like to try the same thing but that will be a waste of money if the outcome will not be nice so i am doing a little bit of research first.
