Hey All, :wave

Nice site here, all ready learned where to adjust my e-break.

Yesterday I disconnected the battery and cleaned the clamps. When I put them back on an started the truck it put itself in 4lo. The 4wd shift switch was in 4h. Did not sound good, I had let the clutch out as soon as it was running. Now, it stays in 4lo regardless of where the switch is set. After it's started, the 4wd indicator light (LCD) goes blank and the 4wd warning light comes on. I'm hoping it's something simple, a fuse maybe, but I've not been able to find anything. Everything was workin' fine before I started messin' with the battery so I assuming it's electrical.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So yesterday a friend brought me a reader, no luck there. Returned error code PO463, I'm assuming relates to the fuel level malfunction recall.

Any chance you have the owners manual? I have an automatic, but I did find out that in order to use 4lo I have to put the tranny in neutral, step on the break, and ensure the front wheels are straight. See what your manual says about stick shift.

Yes, I have the manual, had the truck since new. I use 4lo almost everyday, My "drive way" is 3/4 ml. an 500' of elev. gain. Kinda steep in places.  Rained here most of the day so I didn't get out to mess with it any. Thanks for the comment.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and then restarting?  If it is in the computer, perhaps this would clear it.

I disconnected the battery an diddled with the cable. Cleaned some more an pulled all the connections apart. Ill bet that didn't take :30. I'll take it off now an put it back in the morning when it's light. Thanks for the suggestion!

Done, also meant to add earlier, when driving today I noticed the odometer is reading twice the distance covered. Assuming the computer thinks the truck is in high  .

With both battery cables off, touch them together
momentarily, also be sure the 4wd selector switch is in 2hi
while doing this.
