I just recently noticed that when my truck is in 2wd, the
two front tires and transmission blink on the 4wd indicator
light. When the truck is in 4wd h/l the indicator light is
completely solid and there seems to be no issues with the
4wd. Has anyone else had this issue before? Any insight
would be very useful.

It is usually a concern w/ the actuator. It really helps
to know what vehicle we are dealing with. Also, when taking
vehicle out of 4WD, if you are moving, it helps to release
the throttle and sometimes stopping and going in reverse is
necessary.

It's a 2008 Frontier SE. After I posted yesterday I decided
to take the truck for a drive to see if the blinking front
tires and drive train on the 4wd indicator light would shut
off after I went from 2wd to 4wd and back again to 2wd. The
indicator light did go back to normal again after a minute
or so and afterwards I noticed that once I switched back
into 4wd and then again into 2wd the blinking front tires
and drive train quickly shut off on the indicator light. Is
this normal or should I be concerned? Since I am new to
4wd I apologize for my ignorance regarding how 4wd operates
and whether or not I should be concerned but I appreciate
your input on the matter.

There is a wealth of info in the owners manual, this is my 2nd 4 wheeler, and so different than the first pathfinder I had. It can be confusing, but worth looking into.

#1 the 4 WD should not be used on dry or even wet roads(ice
and snow OK) #2 the wheels should be straight ahead when
engaging or disengaging. #3 when disengaging release the
throttle momentarily while driving. #4 make sure all 4
tires are the same brand, tread depth and 35# in all. Any
bind from the above conditions will make it extremely
difficult to engage or disengage 4WD.
