Hello, Sent my truck in to the dealer because I wasn't getting any heat at idle and truck was running rough. Was told coolant was low and needed a proper flush I am kind of ok with that. But then went on about my Tranny fluid being real dirty. I have an 07 with 42,000 miles on it. Should I need a flush already?

They want to charge me $199 for this. He explained it is not just a drain and re-adding of the tranny fluid but a "flush" Is he blowing smoke up my hoo hoo?

I appreciate any input

I have an 07 with auto. Once a year I buy 4 qts of Nissan Matic S (replaces J) and drain out the tranny pan, measure it and add the same amount back through the trans dipstick tube. Comin up on 4 years. Fluid is bright red and transparent with that good suagary smell of tranny fluid. A lot cheaper than paying the dealer and it keeps the tranny clean.

Good idea Boomer, but you just can't beat a complete flush
every 30K. Personally, I drop the pan on the first flush
just to remove all the crap in the bottom of the pan. My 01
Altima is still going strong with 150K.
I would be a little concerned with the low coolant and
running rough. Coolant is good for 4yrs/60K miles.

Well I got the Collant Flushed and the Tranny flushed. As for the running rough they are "certain" that it is my "abnormally" worn tires.. Not sure what to think about that. what are your thoughts on that with 42,000 miles?

How many miles SHOULD truck tires last. I do mostly highway driving an no off roading.
