Please school me.

I know little about IFS.  I would like to raise the front end 1 to 2 inches.  I have seen spacers to lower the top of the strut about 1 to 2 inches.  The previous owners put Rancho's on and I find them a bit too stiff - or tired (2004 CC with 95000 miles), so I am considering replacing the struts anyway.  Couldn't I just put in a strut with appropriate load characteristics but 2 inches longer overall to accomplish the same thing?  I am not really concerned about the loss of droop.

I was going to replace the rear springs for a bit heavier load rating and  bit of a lift.  With the bed loaded down and the kids in the truck I notice some droop in the back, and a bit of a "rocking horse" thing in some situations.

Thanks for your opinions.

Mark.

Maybe I am a bit too wordy.

Can I install a longer strut instead of a spacer and a stock strut in the front suspension?

Thanks,  Mark.

In case anyone is following along... <crickets>

I found a good faq about 1st generation stuff over at clubfrontier.org.   I wound up cranking the torsion bars for about 1 and 3/8 inches of lift in the front.  I may go a little higher, but want to install low profile bump stops in place of the stock ones first.  The truck is currently level.

Is there any reason why spacers would be preferable to cranking the torsion bars?
