I have overloaded my old 2002 2.4L 4x2, it was a short trip but it handled it just fine.
How big of a camper is it?
If you want to hit that 5000lbs mark right on. I would suggest trailer brakes with brake controller, and the transmisson cooler. The cooler can be a life saver. Also I would have the truck looked over with a fine tooth comb. Before you go is the time to button up any leaks, replace brake pads if needed.
If your camper is long, then i'd look at a load stabalizer. If you test hookup your camper and it sags a little worrisome, you can get a helper setup. There is a few different options. There's overload assist springs, and load air bags. These will keep your truck sitting level, improving handling and braking.
