2000 Nissan Frontier Crewcab - v6 3.3L Manual Tranny 155k
miles.

I connected my scan guage to my ODB-II port because I'm
getting about 14 or 15 mpg in my truck. I've noticed that
my engine will advance when I'm in 4th gear but when I
shift into 5th gear the engine won't advance as it should.
And thus i think this is severely impacting my fuel
economy.

Any ideas what could be causing that? Or what I should
check?

I assume you are talking about timing advance. Any knock sensor code that may be retarding the timing???
