i was thinking about replacing just the stock intake filter due to possible warranty BS if i went with a CAI, so anyone seen any minor improvements with going with just an aftermarket filter such as FRAM's Airhog performance filter, K&N filters, or others and what are your opinions on it, did you see any throttle response and/or mpg increase. granted i know this is asking a lot from just replacing the stock filter with an aftermarket filter, but just asking questions before i make a decision, i have also thought about going with the airraid intake that just sits in the bottom half of the stock intake box, anyone have any experience with that that could off an opinion

FYI-my update w/ comparison numbers on my little experiment on increasing mpg will be forthcoming in a couple weeks after i run a few tanks of gas with my current variables.

I noticed a HUGE difference in everything I put a K&N filter in.  And that was just stock replacement.

I have the AirAid Intake on my truck, and it made a significant difference!  Here's a link to my install comments with pics:

Premier Truck Accessories is also offering a special price on it through the 31st of January.  Here's a link to some information about it as well:

I had a K&N Filter in my Stock air box before changing to the AirAid Quick-Fit Intake, and I didn't see much of a difference from it and the stock paper filter.  Also, Reverendbiker, a member on another forum did a dyno and gas mileage compaison with the K&N filter and found the difference was negligible.  Here's a link to his site:

I had a K&N filter and then switched to an AirHog, my gas mileage is hurting even when I am not on the throttle....in fact I think its running rich.

In winter the exhaust is really steamy, but I get that even when its 70 degrees out...anyone know what gives...I thought it was just the computer taking its sweet time to adjust, but I even disconnected the battery and all that to reset it, no difference what so ever....thats with a butt dyno mind you
