I purchased a 2002 nissan frontier today. I drove it home about 150 miles without any problems until about 3 miles till i got home. As I was going up a hill my acceleration totally cut off, I looked down and I realized that all of my dash lights were on like how they are when you turn the key on. I then realized that the truck was off and it had died :( I pulled over after coasting to a stop and it started right back up. I stopped and filled up gas so i know that wasnt the problem. I did wash it before i came home, could this have had anything to do with it? I live in the midwest and we have had an extremely harsh winter but today it was in the fifties. It has 93k on it. It makes me sad because i have literally had it less than 12 hours. Any ideas????? I did some research and there is some kind of recall on something to do with the fuel pump, I was going up a hill so did the fuel go back in the lines and cut off fuel supply? Also if this is the problem would it start back up?? There was no warning before it shut off, no sputtering or anything, the accelerator just went slack. I went back out and started it up an hour ago, so i don't know! The check engine light is not on by the way.

NTB04-062C is a recall to replace the fuel sending unit due to corrosion at the fuel pump connection. Check with the dealer to see if it has been done. Might want to replace the fuel filter also if not sure of past service records.

There was so much corrosion that they are going to replace the entire fuel tank so i would say that this was the cause of the problem  Im glad they are doing it for free!
