I have a 17 foot aluminum fishing boat and 55hp outboard, approx weight is about 1300 lbs.

Can I tow in overdrive, or should I disable overdrive? It is a stock setup, NO tranny cooler installed.

That's not much weight. But I'd kick out of OD in the Hills.

Hot tranny oil kills trannies. Get the extra cooler even if you didn't tow.
