I have a family member who has was given a 1st gen frontier around a 2000 model (owner passed away). From what we know it is a 2wd and  a 4 clylinder and it does not start. Not sure if it is like that all the time or some. The po said it is a part that is hard to find and has been out of production. Would anyone know what could be wrong and what to look for etc? Will be going in a few weeks to help pack up the belongings and will get the truck. Thanks

First of all, all parts are still available for a 2000 Frontier. There is a TSB for an updated dist which is designed to prevent dirt and moisture from entering. Instead of going to the expense of the complete dist., I would suggest installing a Genuine Nissan cap and rotor. Clean out the dist if dust found(don't loose the spring in the coil tower). Second, you need to determine what you have, spark, fuel , compression??????< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" ="">

Thanks. All we know is that the original owner said that some part was not avaliable and expensive. I  dont know what is wrong with the truck. Hopefully it will be easy and simple to fix. Any other ideas from anyone else. Thanks
